Project 3
SPACE AND SENSORY: SELF-EXPLORATION THROUGH SPACES
(60% INDIVIDUAL)
Task :
In this assignment, the primary objective is to re-examine and reinterpret the model(s) from Project 1, culminating in the formulation of a design intent centered around the architectural experience of Path-Portal-Place. Concurrently, a focused exploration into materials and structures is undertaken, where a selection of two to three materials, such as Concrete, Timber, Steel, or Glass, is meticulously studied for their characteristics, properties, and construction techniques. This understanding informs the application of these materials to the reinterpreted 1:1 structure, enriching its spatial qualities. The iterative process continues with the exploration and refinement of ideas through test models, sketches, and drawings. As the design evolves, critical drawings, including exploded axonometrics, floor plans, sections, and elevations, are developed to elucidate structure, joinery details, and overall design coherence. Ultimately, the assignment culminates in the execution of final models and orthographic drawings, thoughtfully composed onto a presentation board, encapsulating the multifaceted journey of design exploration and realization.
Design Process
I initiated my research on Pinterest to gather inspiration and reinterpret my initial project. Subsequently, I began creating sketches and test models, presenting them to my tutor for feedback to refine and enhance my design.
After several weeks of tutorial sessions, I finalized my design and proceeded with crafting the final model and creating the presentation boards.

REFLECTION
Embarking on my last project was a journey of continuous exploration and refinement. I started by reinterpreting my initial design and delved into research and inspiration-seeking through platforms like Pinterest, which significantly influenced my creative process. The iterative nature of sketching and testing models became invaluable, allowing me to present my evolving ideas to my tutor for constructive feedback. This iterative feedback loop played a pivotal role in refining my design approach. As weeks progressed and after numerous tutorial sessions, I reached a pivotal moment of finalizing my design. Transitioning from conceptualization to execution, I meticulously crafted the final model and composed the presentation boards with great attention to detail. This culmination not only encapsulated my design journey but also underscored the importance of perseverance, iterative refinement, and receptive feedback in achieving a cohesive and compelling architectural expression.
During this assignment, I realized the significance of time management in ensuring timely completion of tasks. Additionally, this marked my first experience creating a manual presentation board during my degree, enhancing my understanding of presentation board layouts and proper drawing techniques. Overall, this project significantly improved my drawing skills, particularly in producing orthographic and exploded axonometric drawings of my model.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
LifeLong Learning
Throughout this project, I have been encouraged to constantly improve my skills, learn new techniques, and adapt to changing requirements. Each task provides an opportunity for me to delve deeper into design principles, improve my visualization abilities, and master the art of effective communication through visual representation. I see this project as a lifelong learning journey, where I not only meet my immediate objectives but also cultivate a mindset that values continuous growth, innovation, and excellence in architectural presentation.
