Project 1A
POETIC ASSEMBLAGE: < CHOREOGRAPHY + ENVELOPE > - A Bodily-Conscious, Affective, Expressive and Experimental Flagship Construct for a Pas de Deux - (15% GROUP)

Task :

Project 1 emphasizes collective research and knowledge sharing while supporting individual exploration of bodily awareness, emotional engagement, creative expression, and experimental design. It adopts a poetic design approach informed by choreography from native culture-inspired contemporary dances.

The project requires observing and documenting bodily movements through ethnographic drawings, including plan and elevation movement mapping. Understanding the meaning of the dance arises from both reading and the process of observation and drawing. A form-making process is introduced to develop a design outcome, resulting in an envelope informed by choreography and emphasizing bodily consciousness, affect, expression, and experimentation.

THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Working on the Tropical Atrium project as a group of six has been an enriching experience, highlighting the importance of TGC thinking and problem-solving, as well as interpersonal skills. This project required us to delve into extensive background research, produce detailed architectural drawings, and create analysis diagrams and models. The complexity of the task demanded critical thinking and innovative problem-solving to ensure accuracy and creativity in our work.

Our team leader effectively delegated tasks, fostering a collaborative environment where each member could contribute their strengths. This delegation not only kept the project on track but also allowed us to develop our interpersonal skills, learning to communicate efficiently and support each other throughout the process. By working together, we navigated challenges such as aligning our interpretations of the design intentions and ensuring consistency across our drawings and models.

Through this project, we have honed our ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and work cohesively as a team, which are essential skills for our future endeavors in architecture and beyond.
