SPATIUM (20% GROUP)

Task :

This assignment is divided into two main parts. Part A requires you to form a group comprising 4-5 members. Together, you will be tasked with constructing a play structure with specific dimensions of 4000mm (length) x 3000mm (width) x 3000mm (height).

Once the play structure is completed in Part A, Part B will involve creating detailed visual representations based on the outcome from Part A. Specifically, each member will need to produce one floor plan drawing, two elevation drawings, and one section drawing of the constructed play structure.

Build a Play Structure

As Part A of the assignment is a group project, we are required to collaborate with other members to finish the work. To expedite the process, we decided to stay at school until midnight, working diligently on the structure. We aimed to complete the construction as quickly as possible, allowing us to move on to the drawing phase sooner.

The pressure to finish promptly was further intensified by the upcoming independent learning week, during which the group would disperse temporarily. Since we couldn't pass the model to each member due to everyone returning to their respective hometowns, we were motivated to complete the project at a faster pace. Finally, we success to finish our model. ><

Drawing Detail

Without hesitation, I began working on my floor plan, elevation, and section drawings. Collaboratively, we supported one another in this task to ensure consistency in our drawings and measurements, showcasing the strength of our teamwork. I am genuinely grateful for the examples provided by the lecturer, as they helped clarify the assignment and guided us on drawing symbols, particularly in the floor plan.

The workload was evenly distributed, with each person responsible for one page of the slide. Through discussions, we agreed upon a consistent color scheme for our slide, resulting in a cohesive and unified look for the entire slide.

OUTCOME

My sleep-deprived appearance reveals the effort I put into completing the assignment, burning the midnight oil to get it done. I acknowledge that my time management suffered during the independent learning week when I was at home, as there were many distractions. Despite this, I tried my best to finish the task promptly. The assignment required precise dimensions and measurements, so I devoted considerable effort to the drawings. Thankfully, I managed to complete it a few days before the submission deadline. ;) 

REFLECTION

Participating in this assignment and working within a group setting was an enlightening experience. Collaborating with fellow members presented challenges, but the collective effort made the process rewarding. The late-night sessions reflected our commitment to completing the play structure swiftly, fostering a strong sense of unity among the team. The approaching independent learning week fueled a sense of urgency, prompting us to optimize our productivity. Throughout the project, I learned valuable lessons in effective communication, teamwork, and time management. This endeavor has left me with newfound confidence in tackling future group projects and an appreciation for the importance of cooperation in achieving shared goals.

THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

This assignment improved my critical and creative thinking in designing a play structure. Besides, I know the correct ways to draw floor plan, elevations, and section drawings. Not only that, I also learned to manage time effectively within the given timeframe. It was a valuable experience that enhanced my skills for future projects.

Through this assignment, I learned about the importance of efficient time management and the value of teamwork. Proper time management ensures productivity and meeting deadlines, while teamwork allows us to benefit from diverse perspectives and achieve shared success. Additionally, I now understand the significance of effective communication and cooperation for overall project success.
