Project 1
Diagramming Architectural Principles (10% GROUP)

Task :

Conduct background research on the assigned architect and one of their key buildings, then produce a complete set of architectural drawings (scale 1:50) hand-drawn on A3 landscape format and rendered. Analyze the key building through drawings, focusing on design intentions, context (tropical settings, weather, natural lighting, and ventilation), space planning (organization and relationships), circulation and zoning, and structure. Formulate findings into 5 analysis diagrams and 5 diagrammatic models (12 x 12 x 8 cm) that precisely and informatively express the key building's ideas.

Group Working Process

We worked in groups of six and were assigned The Tropical Atrium. Our leader delegated the tasks, and everyone completed their assignments on time to ensure everything stayed on track.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Working on the Tropical Atrium project as a group of six has been an enriching experience, highlighting the importance of TGC thinking and problem-solving, as well as interpersonal skills. This project required us to delve into extensive background research, produce detailed architectural drawings, and create analysis diagrams and models. The complexity of the task demanded critical thinking and innovative problem-solving to ensure accuracy and creativity in our work.

Our team leader effectively delegated tasks, fostering a collaborative environment where each member could contribute their strengths. This delegation not only kept the project on track but also allowed us to develop our interpersonal skills, learning to communicate efficiently and support each other throughout the process. By working together, we navigated challenges such as aligning our interpretations of the design intentions and ensuring consistency across our drawings and models.

Through this project, we have honed our ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and work cohesively as a team, which are essential skills for our future endeavors in architecture and beyond.
