Project 1
GEOMETRY AND FORM: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES (10% INDIVIDUAL)
Task :
One ordering principle must be selected from options such as Axis, Symmetry, Hierarchy, Datum, Rhythm, or Repetition. This chosen principle is explored through the creation of models based on primary elements like Point, Line, and Plane. Following this, a model combining two or three of these primary elements is developed. The final step involves producing four tattoo stamps of this model, highlighting features such as horizontal and vertical sections, side views, and top views. Detailed guidelines specify the model's dimensions, materials, and the use of monochromatic ink for the tattoo stamps. Additionally, a Design Process Sketch Journal in A3 format is required to document and reflect upon the architectural design process.
Exploration of the design
Doing researching and gathering inspiration from platforms like Pinterest is an essential starting point for generating ideas. By beginning with sketches, one can capture initial concepts and ideas, laying the foundation for further design development.
Final Models
I've selected Rhythm as the foundational design principle and crafted models incorporating various elements specified in the instructions. The ultimate model integrates elements of point, line, and plane.

REFLECTION
In tackling this project with the Rhythm design principle, I navigated the challenges of integrating elements like point, line, and plane. Starting with initial sketches helped shape my vision, leading to a cohesive model that encapsulated rhythmic elements. The structured guidelines and materials provided a framework, while still allowing room for creativity. Overall, this exercise deepened my understanding of harmonizing architectural elements within a specific design principle.
LifeLong Learning
Through this assignment, I've gained a deeper insight into design principles and elements, which I anticipate will be advantageous for upcoming projects. Moreover, I've acquired the skill of creating orthographic drawings.
THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
I am committed to overcoming any obstacles that come my way. Rather than giving up, I conduct research and seek assistance from others to resolve any issues. Additionally, I have learned how to remain calm and approach challenges methodically to ensure that I can handle them without being overwhelmed.
