AEDIFICIUM: VISUAL ILLUSTRATIONS (20% INDIVIDUAL)

Task :

Choose 5 structures from various periods, including Ancient, Mediaeval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Neoclassical architecture. Additionally, draw each building manually and then perform a case study on each one.

Research on Pinterest

To be honest, I must admit that Pinterest is an excellent platform for finding sketches and artwork, especially in the realm of ancient architecture. It has broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain new knowledge about historical structures. I find myself drawn to ancient architecture the most, as it fascinates me to see the strength and endurance of the people who constructed such remarkable buildings, which continue to stand tall even in the 21st century.

I'm using Canva to make sure the layout of my drawing is nice and fits everything I needed because it was my first assignment of my last semester. Naturally, it was quite beneficial to my later sketches.

Always receiving valuable feedback from my tutor which has significantly contributed to the improvement and increased power of my work.

Drawing and coloring are the most enjoyable parts of this assignment. I really like to draw those buildings :) . However, my dedication to the task sometimes causes my day and night to blur together, as I become so deeply immersed in the process that I lose track of time.

OUTCOME

Finally!!!! After dedicating 3-4 days to the assignment, I managed to complete it. The process of drawing and coloring the historical buildings was both challenging and fulfilling. As I poured my creativity into each piece, I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment with every finished artwork. The hours I spent meticulously adding intricate details and selecting the perfect colors were truly worth it. This assignment has not only improved my artistic skills but also deepened my appreciation for historical architecture.

REFLECTION

The assignment was a rewarding experience that allowed me to explore historical architecture through drawing and coloring. I saw my artistic skills improve with each effort, thanks to valuable feedback from my tutor. This journey deepened my appreciation for ancient civilizations and their enduring architectural heritage. Overall, it was a fulfilling and empowering endeavor that left a lasting impression on my art and historical understanding.

LifeLong Learning

For future purposes, this assignment allowed me to practice architectural lettering, hone my research abilities, and apply analytical skills not just to the visual aspect but also to the written content. It has been a valuable learning experience for me.

Throughout this assignment, I had to learn the art of sketching buildings and structures, as well as mastering the skill of coloring them beautifully. I am pleased to say that it has significantly improved both my drawing and coloring abilities.
