My thoughts

From my standpoint, the architecture history and theory module is captivating and occasionally tedious. Nonetheless, it's an invaluable course that has allowed me to delve into architectural histories spanning various periods.

For Project 1, I focused on an aged structure in Malaysia, providing an opportunity to explore Malaysian architecture unfamiliar to me. My group extensively researched the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka's historic building. This endeavor introduced me to a structure I hadn't previously investigated. Additionally, this project honed my teamwork skills. Our group leader adeptly delegated tasks, ensuring our smooth progress. Fortunately, consistent communication among group members enabled us to address challenges, averting potential conflicts promptly.

Project 2 was an individual work where I had to select a building from distinct historical periods such as pre-historic times, ancient Egyptian, ancient Greek and Roman, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance, among others. With a list provided by the lecturer, I meticulously researched each era's architectural marvels before deciding on five buildings to analyze further. This process expanded my knowledge of global architectural wonders, truly highlighting the marvels of architecture.

In a nutshell, enrolling in AHT during Semester 1 provided me with a foundational understanding of architectural history beneficial for subsequent semesters. Being new to architecture, I greatly appreciated the constant guidance from tutors, ensuring clarity and avoiding confusion throughout each project.
