Task :
Project Overview This project focuses on transitioning a collective group proposal into an individually developed design scheme, emphasizing inquisitive and iterative architectural thinking. The core objective is to critically examine spatial quality, formal composition, functionality, and effectiveness through rigorous design testing and analysis.
Design Aim The primary aim is to design an "Urban Living Room" situated in George Town. This hybrid civic space is envisioned as a city lobby and cultural gateway that functions as a "third place" for the public, catering to social, recreational, and cultural needs outside of traditional commercial spaces.
Key Design Parameters

Scale: The proposed building must maintain a Gross Floor Area (GFA) strictly between 1,800 and 2,000 square meters.

Height: The structure must be a minimum of three levels and a maximum of five levels above ground.

Programming: The spatial allocation should dedicate 50–60% to primary programs (such as creation spaces, performance stages, or wellness areas), 30% to circulation and services, and the remainder to living components, ancillary support, and site mitigation.

Throughout the development phase, the design process is driven by four primary areas of exploration:

Expected Outcomes The project culminates in a comprehensive pin-up presentation demonstrating a reflective design process. Deliverables include a curated compilation of conceptual 2D and 3D drawings, analytical diagrams, sketches, and physical study models.
