PHASE 3
Design Development-Architecture for place-making (weeks 8 – 16)
Task :
Timeline: Weeks 8 – 16 Objective: To fully develop the architectural form, space, and technical integration of the Learning Centre.
This phase focuses on translating your strategy into a resolved building design. You must integrate structural systems, environmental strategies (tropical design), and building services (lighting, acoustics, fire safety) into a coherent architectural scheme. The building must be between 1,200 m² and 1,300 m² and 3–5 storeys high.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:
-
Technical Integration: Resolve the design with consideration for legislative requirements (UBBL, fire escape distances), structural logic, and passive green strategies.
-
Interim Review (Week 12): Pin-up of finalized spatial layouts, floor plans (1:100/1:200), and site sections.
Final Submission (Week 16):
-
10 x A1 Panels: Comprehensive presentation including site plans (1:500), detailed floor plans, sections, and elevations (1:100/1:200).
-
Physical Model: A final detailed model to be set within the immediate context.
-
Facade Focus: A specific 3D digital poster (1:50/1:100) highlighting the facade design.
-
Technical Diagrams: Fire run compliance, water supply/discharge, and detailed wall sections.
Final Outcome
